Hamill Serrant began his career focusing on algorithmic execution, showcasing a breadth of expertise in portfolio-based trading across equities, F/X, and digital assets. Before his current role, he was the Director of Institutional Loan Originations at Genesis, a New York-based prime broker in digital assets. There, he led a team across Singapore, London, and New York and was pivotal in increasing the firm's outstanding loans by over 20 times. His cross-functional work with various teams was crucial in significantly expanding the client base and quadrupling the revenue within two years, alongside enhancing customer service by implementing a more scalable workflow.
Earlier in his career, he served at Sanford C. Bernstein on the portfolio and algorithmic trading desk, where he handled trading coverage for North American asset managers and executed trades ranging from several million to multiple hundreds of millions for well-known asset managers. His eight-year stint at Credit Suisse involved various ascending roles, notably as Vice President of the International Program Trading Desk, where he managed non-dollar portfolio trades for global asset managers and developed systems to execute sizeable foreign exchange transactions efficiently.
In 2012, he spent six months in Hong Kong, enhancing his understanding of the Asia Pacific equity markets and gaining firsthand experience with the region's market microstructure. His early career at Credit Suisse began amid the 2008 financial crisis, where he worked on a joint venture focused on prime services and low-latency trading.
Hamill graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Trinity College, Hartford, in 2008, where he was involved in various extracurricular activities, including studying abroad in Rome.
